Terminal Sign Rules
- Terminal signs are used at the end of a word.
- The signs for ward, ous, ve, te and ge can be followed by the contractions for ness or ment or a single sign necessary for completing a word.
- The signs for ge and te must not be used when they could reasonably be mistaken for punctuation marks.
- The sign for ce and cy must not be used at the end of a braille line or where they might be confused with a hyphen or part of a dash.
- If a word is divided between lines before a terminal sign, the terminal sign must not be used at the beginning of the next line.
